1. Controller

OnlySurfboards is responsible for processing the personal data it collects through the site. For any questions about your data: contact@onlysurfboards.com.

• Account and listing data: email, phone / WhatsApp number, and the information you enter in your listings (board description, photos, approximate location).
• Usage data: information about how you browse the site (pages viewed, clicks, approximate device), collected through analytics tools, only if you give your consent in the cookie banner.

3. What we use it for

• Publish your board and let interested buyers contact you.
• Operate, maintain and improve the service.
• Communicate with you about your listings (for example, expiry or renewal notices).

4. Your WhatsApp number is public

The phone / WhatsApp number you enter in a listing is shown (or used for the contact button) publicly in that listing — it is how buyers contact you. Do not post a number you do not want to share.

5. Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of your consent and the need to provide the service you request. In Costa Rica, processing is governed by Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of their Personal Data.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with providers that allow us to operate the site, acting under our instructions:

• Supabase — database and storage (hosting of data and photos).
• Vercel — application hosting.
• PostHog — product analytics (only with your consent).

We may also disclose data if required by law.

7. Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies/storage for the site to function, and analytics tools only if you accept them in the consent banner. You can change your preference at any time. The full detail of which cookies we use is in our Cookie Policy.

8. Retention

We keep your data while your account or your listings are active, and for as long as necessary to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion at any time.

9. Your rights

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Minors

The site is not directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its last-updated date.
